Editor Note
The location given on the AFS card is "Colmans" but there is no community in Bell County or anywhere else in East Kentucky with that name, so Pineville has been retained as the site of this session. Song identified on AFS card as "When Upon the Clouds of Heaven." The alternate title given here is the correct first line, as well as the title of the 1928 record made by Ernest Phipps and His Holiness Singers of Corbin, Ky., for the Victor label.
